BDI petitioners sign steadily throughout the first day.

14 March 2005

The British Declaration of Independence was officially launched on the 17th March, and the petition opened. A steady stream of petitioners signed all day, and many send encouraging and complimentary messages. Because of the sheer volume, we cannot respond individually to each - or put all on our testimonials page - through we would like to. We appreciate the goodwill and urge you all to spread the word to friends and relations - in fact to your whole address book!

The BDI is the means by which we can support our individual candidates during the election and, hopefully, as MPs in the next parliament.

The BDI will invite all candidates of the Parliamentary parties to sign a Declaration which does no more than implement the terms of the Oath of Allegiance, taken by all MPs before they can take their seats in the House of Commons. Most WANT to take and keep the Oath with honour!

The Declaration is a pre-election acknowledgement by the candidate of the Sovereignty of the People he is seeking to represent in their parliament in Westminster.

If a candidate cannot sign this Declaration then they cannot do the job which is on offer as 'Honourable' men and women.
