Conservative and Labour candidates start to sign BDI

8 April 2005

The first responses to the sending out of the British Declaration of Independence to the selected candidates of the parliamentary parties are coming in. Candidates from both the Labour and Conservative Parties have signed.

This shows how individual candidates, unlike political parties, do recognise the vital importance of the BDI and its assertion of the historic Constitution of the British people, the sovereignty of the voters and the powers of our Parliament.

They also recognise that without the unequivocal commitment to Democracy which the BDI provides, they would be unable to defend themselves on the hustings - or honourably take their Oath of Allegiance when they get to Parliament.

The British people are sovereign, not their MPs. Those political parties and candidates who think they can go to our Parliament and cost us £300,000 per annum each while they outsource our democrat powers to others will be brought to book.

We salute those who have signed the BDI. They have proved loyal servants and worthy representatives of the people.
