THE DANGEROUS BELIEFS OF SOME EUROSCEPTICS

We have come across some negative comment on the BDI from some who claim they are "eurosceptics". They have been doing this behind the scenes for some time - partly because they may not like the competition from a genuinely powerful sovereignty movement and partly because they do not understand the British Constitution and consequently the BDI. Here are the facts and the reason why ONLY the BDI is focused on solving the problem.

Metrication: The EU said that it would not impose metrication on the United Kingdom. But Subsequently British traders were ordered to remove imperial weight scales - BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN NO BRITISH ACT OF PARLIAMENT TO ALLOW IMPERIAL MEASURES IN BRITAIN.

The Merchant Shipping Act passed by the Major Government was in conflict with EU law. The EU informed Major that his Act was in conflict with EU law and in order to ASSIMILATE the law with EU law, Major repealed the Merchant Shipping Act which, being the latest will of Parliament, would otherwise have been the law of the land! Had it been true that EU law was superior in the UK to UK Enacted laws, then Major would not have had to repeal the Merchant Shipping Act.
THIS PROVES THAT THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IS SUPREME in Britain and until it enacts Sovereignty legislation there will be no change.
Were the whole of the British people agreed, and expressed that agreement in a referendum, and were the whole of the EU in agreement with the British Referendum, they, together would be powerless in the face of opposition from the British House if Commons. It is the will of the House of Commons which is translated into LAW and that law is enforced in Britain with the consent of the British people. This is commonly called 'Government by Consent'.
Since 1972 MPs have delegated their power to govern Britain to foreign institutions. They have the power at any time to reverse that position. No authority outside or inside Britain could have created or could reverse that decision. Parliament did not have to do that and they could get back those sovereign powers at any time. BUT IN ORDER TO DO SO THEY MUST PASS A LAW. It is NOT sufficient for a Government to SAY they will leave the EU. It is NOT even sufficient for the Government to win an election on a manifesto which stated they would leave the EU. One MEP Roger Helmer even said that it would be sufficient for the "French to throw us out". It is NOT sufficient. Even if 100% of the British people voted in a referendum to leave the EU because ONLY the House of Commons can make decisions in Britain.
- We are the ONLY movement to mobilise identifiable voters to pledge that they will not vote for a "MAJOR" parliamentary party candidate who has NOT signed the BDI.
- We are thus the ONLY movement which will be able to show candidates at an election how many votes they will lose if they do not sign and how many votes they will gain if they DO. This represents real voter power!
- We do not expose our signatories so they can be picked off by their parties and forced to renege. We quietly assemble ever more Parliamentary votes until a majority is achieved (this is what our enemies did for decades - and look what they achieved!)
- The BDI identifies both genuine patriotic sovereignty candidates (so they can be supported) and the hypocrites who claim one thing at elections and do the opposite when in Parliament (so they can be defeated).
- We ensure that genuine sovereignty candidates ALREADY IN PARLIAMENT can retain their seats and not lose votes to smaller sovereignty parties who cannot win a seat but could help to defeat the genuine candidate.
We hope you will bear this in mind as you counter our critics, confront sceptics and seek the pledged votes of the British people.
