JUDGE OUR EFFECT BY THE RESPONSE OF OUR ENEMIES

The revelation for candidates, told by their fearful party establishments that they MUST NOT sign up to their country, their parliament and their democracy, is a massive educational process - and one which ONLY the BDI brings to the sovereignty struggle.

We at the BDI judge our effectiveness by the reactions of our opponents. In the matter of the democratic sovereignty of the British people our enemies are the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative party establishments. It is they who over the past 40 years have combined and conspired to undermine our country our parliament and our democracy - and to fight whom we established the British Declaration of Independence.

Individual candidates and MPs of those parties are a different matter. First of all they are closer to the voters, they tend to have a shorter parliamentary track record and lower majorities than the party leaders and secondly they know little of the machinations "behind the scenes". They are therefore likely (as they did with the BDI and its predecessor the South Molton Declaration) to spontaneously agree to sign - until their superiors get to know of their intentions and warn them they cannot sign! This is what happened at the 1999 and 2001 elections. Liberal (!) Democrats wrote to their candidates that the BDI was so dangerous they should not even read the contents of the letters we sent them! The Conservatives wrote three times to their candidates warning them not to sign. The Labour party, by diverting all candidates' mail to a central system, prevented most of their candidates even getting the letter!

THAT IS HOW WE KNOW THAT THE BDI IS POWERFUL

 - because the threat was recognized by our opponents. Over the years there have been many movements and campaigns purporting to represent the people's desire to assert their sovereignty - so why have they not constituted a threat to the political establishment?

The Parties have NEVER minded their candidates parading themselves on the hustings as Euro-sceptics in particular or sovereignist in general. Such behaviour fools the electorate out of their votes, but represents no threat so long as the parliamentary parties knew that once elected they would vote as required.

That is why Austin Mitchell MP, Bill Cash and others have been immune from party discipline for 'saying' all sorts of 'good' things. It keeps us quiet because the politicians think that if we applaud what they say we are happy - because we continue voting for them regardless of how they vote! This is the evidence over 50 years!

The only people the parties will not tolerate are those who they believe will vote as they speak! That is why the Better Off Out campaign is welcomed by the party machines - it is exactly what they want and need because it preserves party seats and the presence in parliament of "licensed" eurosceptics who are known and can be relied upon to vote the party line. The BDI on the other hand is signed by a cross party coalition who are NOT yet known and who can choose to reveal themselves in their own time and will vote to assert our national sovereignty when the time is right - when a credible parliamentary majority can be achieved. That is why other campaigns are welcomed - and why the BDI is repudiated.

So from the reaction of our enemies we see that while all campaigns are useful ONLY the BDI is of use to us, the voters, the people of Britain.

                           ----------oOo-----------

1. THE PLEDGED VOTE FORM.

The BDI derives its political power to re-assert the sovereignty of the British people from the number of pledged votes in each constituency. Only when MPs, candidates and political parties see how many votes they gain by committing (irrevocably) to voting for the BDI Bill in Parliament - and how many they will lose if they do not, can we assemble the necessary (cross party) Parliamentary majority for that legislation.

We are introducing a new PLEDGED VOTE FORM on which we aim to collect 3000 names, address and signatures in every constituency. Please print out the 'PLEDGED VOTE' FORM (see 'downloads' on the website), collect signatures and return them to us at the address above, in the same way as you would petition forms.

2. CAMPAIGNING IS NOT ENOUGH.

There is no shortage of campaigns, but the BDI is the ONLY mechanism which turns voter power into a majority for a specific Parliamentary Bill which will actually recover our country, our Parliament and our democracy. Political parties do not fear campaigns - but they do fear the BDI since it threatens their cosy cross party consensus, awakens the voters to the real crisis (and a real solution) and educates MPs about what their own parties have signed away - and refuse to get back!

3. BDI SUPPORTERS CLUBS.

We intend to set up BDI supporters clubs in a couple of constituencies to test whether such organisations are effective in promoting our objectives. If you would like to help establish such clubs could you please contact us either by email or at our London office. If you are already in a sovereignty campaign this should be no barrier since the BDI, although unique, is not incompatible with any other meaningful sovereignty movement.

4. WE ARE THE YES CAMPAIGN.

Don't forget that the BDI is a positive movement. We say YES to our own country, our own Parliament and our own democracy and force the enemy to say NO to our country, our Parliament and our democracy - not a good platform from which to be elected to Parliament!
